CRIMINAL DEFENSE

Our firm has extensive experience defending the rights of people arrested and accused of criminal offenses. We handle all type of criminal cases, including minor infractions and misdemeanors as well as felonies. Some of the most serious felonies we defend are drunken driving, drug possession and dealing, theft and grand larceny, white collar fraud, embezzlement, sex offenses, arson, conspiracy, and homicide.

ELDER LAW/ESTATE PLANNING/WILLS AND TRUSTS

Elder law is the area of law dealing with the elderly. We counsel and represent clients on issues that affect the elderly, including Estate Planning, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Healthcare, and Long Term Care Planning. Estate Planning is the area dealing with the distribution of an individual's property at his or her death. We prepare Wills, Trusts, Living Wills, and Powers of Attorney so as to minimize Indiana inheritance taxes and Federal Estate taxes while carrying out the client's wishes.

FAMILY LAW

Family Law is the area dealing with all aspects of the relationship between parents, children, spouses, partners, grandparents, and extended family members. We represent mothers, fathers, children, and grandparents in the following legal matters: Adoptions, Paternity, Child Custody, Child Support, Divorce, Domestic Violence, Visitation Rights, Prenuptial Agreements, and Guardianships.

*PERSONAL INJURY/WRONGFUL DEATH/MEDICAL MALPRACTICE

If you or a loved one have been seriously injured as the result of the negligence of another person, we have over 30 years experience handling plaintiff's claims for past and future medical expenses, lost wages, disability, pain and suffering, and mental anguish. We also handle negligence claims resulting in the wrongful death of a family member in order to recover lost earnings and the loss of the love and companionship of the deceased.

PROBATE AND ESTATE ADMINISTRATION

Probate is the legal process by which a person's debts are paid and assets are distributed upon his or her death. Lawyers refer to the entity that holds the deceased's assets until those assets are distributed as an "estate." Estate Administration includes the probate process as well as non-probate transfers of the deceased's assets. Administration also includes the preparation of the applicable Federal and Indiana State Estate and Inheritance Tax Returns. Our firm also represents clients in the areas of Will Contests, Trust Disputes, and Claims against an Estate.

REAL ESTATE

We can assist you if you are buying or selling a house, family farm, or commercial/retail real estate. Our firm represents participants on all sides of every type of real estate transaction. Our clients include tenants, landlords, developers, lenders, buyers, sellers and investors. We have counseled them in the Acquisition, Financing, Planning, Zoning, Land Use, Construction, Leasing and Sale of Real Estate.

TAXATION

The area of Taxation is broad enough to include income, property, gift, and estate taxation. We assist clients in tax planning as well as the preparation of the various State and Federal Income, Gift, and Estate/Inheritance Tax forms. We also represent clients in appeals of their property tax appraisals.

If an illness, disease, or injury prevents you from working for more than 12 months, you may qualify for Social Security Disability or Supplemental Security Income benefits. If your claim is denied after your first application, we have more than 30 years experience assisting claimants with appeals and hearings before Administrative Law Judges, and in Federal Court.

*WORK INJURIES/WORKER'S COMPENSATION CLAIMS

If you are injured at work we can help you recover medical expenses and obtain appropriate medical treatment and temporary and permanent disability benefits, as well as benefits for a permanent partial impairment (PPI). We represent injured workers before the Worker's Compensation Board of Indiana and before the Indiana Court of Appeals.
