How is a mortgage Broker different than a broker or Bank?

Open Mortgage is a mortgage banker, and we believe this is the best model for borrowers. A mortgage broker can arrange (or broker) loans for you with a bank. The broker doesn't have facilities to complete many of the processes in-house, and will be at the mercy of the bank or lender with which they work, for the completion of much of the origination. Banks can often handle many tasks in-house. However, banks typically only originate loans for their own portfolio. That results in more restrictive lending guidelines, and a limited number of products. A mortgage banker like Open Mortgage can handle all of the origination, processing, and closing in-house and funds your loan with our own money. That give Open complete control of the process. We then sell closed loans to a wide range of the largest investors in the market, giving Open Mortgage the widest selection of loan products and the best pricing.
