If you were looking for a new or used car during the mid 1930s in this area than you may have purchased your car from Vernon Hinkey at Hinkley Garage. Vern and his brother, Floyd, were serving customer's needs and could be reached at phone number 35. Hinkley Garage sold new Plymouth cars and Diamond T trucks. In 1938 Vernon and Floyd took advantage of an opportunity when they were able to become an authorized Chevrolet dealer. They discontinued Plymouth and Diamond T and began selling and servicing Chevrolets. Charles and Paul Hinkley are now operating the business that their father Vernon and their uncle uncle Floyd operated in the 1930s, 40s, 50s, and 60s. The name of the business has changed several times over the years; Hinkley Garage became Hinkley Chevrolet; Hinkley Chevrolet became Hinkley Chevrolet Geo; then Hinkley Chevrolet Geo Pontiac Buick; then Hinkley Chevrolet Pontiac Buick; and is now Hinkley Chevrolet Buick. After all these years and through many name changes, Hinkley's has remained a constant. Chuck and Paul and the rest of the employees at Hinkley Chevrolet Buick are here to sell and service your Chevrolet or Buick . We continue to serve our customers' needs. |
