Credit Unions are non-profit financial institutions, owned and operated by their members. We have a democratic structure with a voluntary Board of Directors that is elected by our members. Muskegon Co-op Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1949 as a co-operative credit union with a sponsoring Co-op food store. Credit union membership was open to members of the Co-op store who lived or worked in Muskegon, Oceana, Ottawa and Newaygo counties. As time passed, Co-Optical Service became the main sponsor base and anyone that lived or worked in Muskegon, Oceana, Ottawa, or Newaygo counties could join. |
