Custom home building in the Beaumont, TX area has been our family tradition for three generations beginning with Dewitt Knight, a successful contractor who completed his last house in Port Arthur, TX in 1956.  The tradition continued in 1974 when John Knight and his 14 year old son, David, built their first home together as a hobby.  John and David later formed a successful construction business, working together until John's retirement in 2000.  Today, hundreds of projects later, David carries on the tradition of premium home building and commercial general contracting.

JD Knight Construction has been instrumental in building many of the Golden Triangle's most popular housing developments including Highland North, Christina Courts, and Spurlock Chase.  In 1989, the company acquired the Madison Place sub-division and developed it into 22 garden homes which were completed in 1999. In 2001, we began Holland Homes in Nederland, Texas, building 9 houses to start the development.  Along the way we did commercial construction such as apartment complexes, restaurants, convenient stores, office building, renovation of old building and build outs.
