Fixing vehicles is in our blood and it's where we excel.

Doc's Car Clinic is the work of generations of car people. Owner Brian Small's grandfather owned the first Ford dealership in Washington, D.C., exposing Brian to the business. During high school, Brian also began working at a gas station, which was operated by a family that taught him the value of kindness and customer care. It was here that he first learned how to fix cars. Later, Brian started Doc's Auto Clinic because he felt car repair was an honest way to make a living.

That tradition of honesty, coupled with extensive training, continues today.

We have been living in Steamboat since 1996, and opened Doc's Auto Clinic in 1997. We later outgrew our original location in a strip mall by Steamboat Motors and moved to our own building at Copper Ridge. This allowed us to install new equipment, including a heavy-duty alignment rack and four-post lifts.

Since first opening our doors, it's been our goal to provide the best auto care in the city. That's why we only hire ASE certified mechanics and use only the best parts. Really, how can one expect to be the best if one doesn't invest in the best? We work hard to bring you the best automotive service possible.

Meet the Team:

Harlin Mueller - Technician

Harlin was born in Sioux Falls, SD, to Arlin and Charlotte Mueller and grew up as the youngest of six kids, with four older sisters and two older brothers. He worked in the family business until he graduated from Harrisburg High School in 1991, at which point he decided to pursue something different. After enrolling in the Ford Asset program in Minneapolis, MN, he received his Associate’s Degree in Automotive Technology.

Putting his degree to good use, he began working for Ben Hur Ford – later changed to Sioux Falls Ford – for 10 years before he came to Doc’s Auto Clinic Clinic.

Harlin has a great range of specialties. Upon arriving at Sioux Falls, he trained in Ford and Dodge. He started his career doing front end repairs and alignments. His many years of experience have made him knowledgeable about all aspects of a vehicle. From interior noises to electrical shortages, engine failures to transmission repairs, Harlin has done it all.

Harlin is married with three beautiful girls. Outside of the shop, he enjoys hunting and fishing with his family and watching all types of sports.

Silas Cammer -Technician

Silas was born and raised in Steamboat Springs, where he continues to live his life. He grew up on a ranch, so taking things apart and fixing them came naturally to him. He graduated from Steamboat Springs High School in 2001, and then went to Denver Automotive & Diesel College.

Silas began working at Doc’s Auto Clinic in June 2005. When he’s not working, he’s camping, fishing, hiking, hunting, and playing soccer during the summer. During the winter he tries to go snowmobiling as much as he can.

Darrell Horton -Service Writer

Darrel grew up in a small town west of Chicago. There, he worked in a precision machine shop for 12 years and completed his Associate’s Degree in Manufacturing.

Darrel began working at Doc’s Auto Clinic in September 2012. While new to the position of service writer, Darrel has had a lot of experience around cars and trucks. Prior to Doc’s Auto Clinic, he was a parts store counterman for three years, during which time he achieved his ASE certification as a parts specialist.

Darrel loves that his position at Doc’s Auto Clinic has given him the opportunity to meet and help his fellow community members. He has a beautiful wife and a three-year-old son. When not at the shop, he enjoys spending as much time with his family as possible. He also enjoys hiking, fishing, reading, and riding his bike.
