Washington State Bank was originally chartered in 1932 in Washington, Iowa. Today, our bank proudly remains a predominately locally owned institution. The bank offers many fine products and services to a diverse client base. Washington State Bank is locally owned and operated. The effect of this form of ownership is extensive. The board develops policies that are sensitive to the needs of the area without compromising sound banking principles. We know our customers and respond quickly to their needs. Our profits stay in the community in the form of dividends and additions to the bank's equity capital. We are often relied upon to provide leadership for special community causes and thus contribute many service hours and extensive financial support annually. Probably the biggest effect of local ownership is growth. Our stockholders continually send referrals to us. You do not need to be referred in order to cultivate a relationship.
