UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI HEALTH CARE MU Health Care is home to the region’s only Level I trauma center, the Frank L. Mitchell Jr., MD, Trauma Center, located at University Hospital. University Hospital is also designated a Level I Stroke Center and has its own Critical Care Air Transport Team.
Women’s and Children’s Hospital is the only hospital of its kind in mid-Missouri. The hospital provides the region’s most comprehensive health care services to meet the special needs of women and children. The hospital is home to the area’s only Pediatric Emergency Room and Pediatric Urgent Care. Children’s Hospital offers comprehensive, multidisciplinary care in more than 30 pediatric specialties and has the area’s most comprehensive Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, Missouri’s official state cancer center offers patients 90 private rooms. In March 2014, Ellis Fischel Cancer Center celebrated a historic affiliation with MD Anderson Cancer Network™. The national network was created to eliminate cancer by collaborating on quality improvement and best practices. Ellis Fischel is the network’s first academic certified member.
The Missouri Orthopaedic Institute (MOI) treats injuries from acute sprains and strains to chronic illnesses and total join replacements. MOI’s orthopedics program has been ranked by U.S. News and World report as a high-performing specialty. The facility is home to the nations first and only Mizzou Biojoint Center, opening in 2017.
The Missouri Psychiatric Center, located inside University Hospital, offers short-term, intensive inpatient treatment services for adults, adolescents and children. |
