Artifacts Gallery represents over 40 of the finest artists in the area.  The historic 1905 building also houses 14 artist studio spaces, where the community can watch the artists at work.  The contemporary and traditional art work featured at Artifacts includes watercolor, oil, acrylic, hand-pulled prints, collage, photography, mixed media, calligraphy, handmade journals, pottery, jewelry, artisan soap, woodworking, encaustic, and more.   It is also home to The Chile Store, where you can find New Mexico chile products.  Products include salsas, jams, dry rubs, sauces, soups, breads, local honey, cookbooks and more.

Artifacts Gallery opened in 1999 to showcase local artists.  Since that time Artifacts has become a major Art Center of Downtown.  Artifacts schedule themed shows and featured artists every two months.  Previous themed shows have included: “Red”, “It’s Raining Cats and Dogs”, “Kitchen Memories”, “Between A Rock and A Hard Place”, and “Containers”.   A visit to Artifacts and The Studio’s can be inspirational to artists and art lovers alike.

For a taste of New Mexico’s world renowned red and green chile visit The Chile Store inside Artifacts Gallery.  Products made by Cibolo Junction, The Truck Farm, Honeyville, Prairie Thyme, Cheri’s Desert Harvest, Tia Rita’s, and Cannon Sweet Hots.   Nestled in the 4 Corners The Chile Store also carries products from our neighbors in Arizona and Colorado.
